About Design, Dome and Ring Beam Construction

In mid 1960, I worked with Post tension concrete projects in the southern United States for Noble Concrete, Inc. Many of the projects would be emphasized Carrier Dome for the construction of cement. Domes have a large lateral load on the walls of buildings in which they are attached. The passing loop is what keeps the walls fall outwards from the weight of the dome.

Specifically, there is usually a large safety factor built into the structure soadditional bars. Post Tension Concrete is a bit 'different, too much of a good thing can lead to problems.

The designer will be on the plans, how much voltage is required, and notice how Noble Concrete suppliers would bid for the jobs and then the shop drawings showing the location and size of cables required.

We have a contract with the dome of a church in Jacksonville, Florida, and all was well. When the concrete had been poured, and has reached the appropriate forceloaded the emphasis on equipment and the south. Our time in the yard for a job like this is usually not more than a few days and could be completed in less than a day. Of course there's always the problem with the unions. Them to exist, make one of their people to work. However, they have never seen anyone experience with this type of work. We have our second trip around the ring beam, the tension in phases to bring order to avoid damage to the pillars. I stressed the connection to each lead four times during the procedure. Suddenly there was a big pop and everything I could, workers were seen descending from the palace!

We kept the concentration and inspected the columns for cracks. I climbed on top of the support for the dome and control at the top of the module. WeThe dome had been triggered by an inch from the top of the module. The columns were at the point which drew a crack!

'm On the phone with the engineer and asked him what to do. His response: "E 'up to the dome, then through your work." He had designed a ring beam and on the design for the use of steel bars and when he talked about what would happen, I undoubtedly aware, he warned us. It has forwarded the information to the contractor andLunch at home.
